They're not hard to build, but if you don't have it up when the bats are migrating in the spring, it won't be used all summer. This is our second spring with a bathouse, and we probably put ours up too late last year to attract any bats... but they say it can take up to 3-5 years anyway, so I guess that was okay.Anonymoushttps://www.blogger.com/profile/14395380166485303934noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-14731145.post-69495394907959379432008-03-19T07:54:00.000-04:002008-03-19T07:54:00.000-04:00Bat Conservation International (BCI) has lots of g...Bat Conservation International (BCI) has lots of good information on bat houses, including free plans for building your own. Somehow I put these in the same category as toad shelters and bluebird houses--not much use if you don't already have toads or bluebirds. However, we do already have lots of bats; we see them fly overhead at dusk, and we call to them and point out the many uneaten mosquitos that plague us. I presume they live in the park and are not in need of further housing; now I just wish I could inoculate them against this disease...Brenda from Flatbushhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/04028764394435321917noreply@blogger.com
